A Mother’s Journey

Earlier this year we concluded post-production on a new offering in the Through My Eyes series. I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, and am excited to say that this experience is being readied for rollout.

Stellar talent helped us create the Through My Eyes: A Mother’s Journey virtual reality immersion into the experience of a Black woman – Latoya Freeman (fictional – but based on numerous in-depth interviews I conducted, and data supplied by a fabulous client and partner). As mentioned elsewhere, the collaboration with the team at NICHQ was and is terrific, and BCT Partners, who co-funded the development, has integrated this experience into their ever-expanding toolkit.

A Must-Read

Dr. Randal Pinkett exercises his many degrees, deep experience AND his mighty passion for effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts in his latest work.

A practical guide for those interested in moving beyond awareness of bias, this work helps us all locate the foundations for WHY we should be concerned, identify WHAT the components are that both drive the need and enable action, and then HOW to do this within an organizational setting. We are honored to be mentioned in the acknowledgments, and thank Dr. Pinkett and the amazing team he and his partners have assembled at BCT every day for their continued trust, collaboration and fantastic work on #problemsworthsolving.

Problems worth solving

In a conversation with a colleague recently, I was going on about this clarity I feel around the work we do at Red Fern – that, while there are many logical applications of virtual reality technology and excellent design work going on out there, we, here, are not driven simply by what technology *can* do, but rather what it *should* do to help with real issues.
