From the Dec 15 and 16 production of ‘Through My Eyes: A Mother’s Journey’ for the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) at the UNC Rex Healthcare NC OBGYN & Midwifery clinic in Cary, NC.

730 am. After previous day décor work. Crew shows up.
Raining like crazy outside Lighting the inside. Expecting actual patients to arrive throughout the day.
9:00 – cast arrived, had all-hands meeting. 9:30 setting up Scene 1.
For variant one – the room dressed with posters and magazines.
Each of these posters had an alternate version featuring people of color.
There were no magazines or posters in the clinic.
Rehearsing and between takes… making adjustments.
Latoya has first person camera positioned.
Cast and crew from Day 1.
Day 1 – Dr. Mosgrove absent as the actor was only there for day 2.
Day 2 – 8am setting up.
Talent for Dr. Mosgrove, Latoya and Shannon with crew. I stood in the back during the takes. Later we do a ‘back plate’ to erase me and the gear.
More adjustments and testing.
Many takes… until we get it right.
